Melon and Dandelion Greens Smoothie -

Melon and Dandelion Greens Smoothie

This Melon and Dandelion Greens smoothie is a great way to pack extra calcium, iron, and detoxifying nutrients into your daily diet. These potent greens can be bitter to the taste, so mixing them with sweet, ripened cantaloupe and fresh, aromatic mint is the perfect way to introduce the ingredient to your smoothie repertoire.  When shopping for dandelion greens, look for leaves that are dark green and unblemished. (They should be at their peak in the spring and early summer.) To store, rinse the highly perishable leaves gently, pat dry, and wrap in a paper towel to absorb extra moisture. Place in a tupperware container or plastic bags and into a low-moisture drawer in the fridge to keep for several days.
