It’s time for a Layered Aloe Smoothie that looks just as amazing as it tastes. Shake your morning up by combining two separate flavors and layering them together for one delicious immune-boosting drink. Once you finish, you’re no longer just a smoothie maker— you’re a smoothie artist!
Layers of Good Immune Health
There are plenty of elements that make this recipe an awesome part of your wellness routine. Strawberries are jam-packed with Vitamin C to keep your immune system functioning well, and bananas are a prebiotic which improves gut health. Bananas also contain high levels of Vitamin B6 to support the immune system.
Now, what about avocados? This may be an unusual ingredient, but they make a perfectly-creamy consistency and are a good source of Glutathione, AKA a powerful antioxidant associated with immune system health needed for the lymphoid cells.
Lemon juice is high in Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant with antiviral and antibacterial benefits. Honey adds a kick of sweetness, but provides much more just than that. Honey’s antioxidant and antibacterial properties help improve the digestive system and boost immunity as well.
Almond Milk contains Vitamins A, D, and E. These three vitamins will give your immune system a big push for enhanced protection. Go for the unsweetened version, since the fruit and honey used here will provide all the sweetness you crave. Additionally, vanilla’s antibacterial nature serves to boost your immune system and lower stress on the body, allowing us to recover better from feeling under the weather.
Finally, Lily of the Desert’s Inner Fillet Aloe Vera Juice has over 200 biologically-active components like vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and polysaccharides. Aloe can help boost immunity (and Lily’s is clinically proven to support immune health!) to allow your body to absorb all these nutrients in your smoothie.
Lily’s Layered Aloe Smoothie Recipe
Part One: Strawberry Smoothie
- 1 ½ Cup Strawberries (Frozen is best)
- 1 Cut-Up Banana (Frozen is best)
- ½ Cup Water
- ½ Tablespoon Honey
- 2 Tablespoons of Lily’s Aloe Vera Inner Fillet Juice
- 1 ½ Teaspoon Lemon Juice
Part Two: Avocado Smoothie
- 1 ½ Cup of Chopped Avocado
- ⅓ Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
- ⅓ Cup of Ice Cubes
- 2 ½ Tablespoons Honey
- 2 Tablespoons of Lily’s Aloe Vera Inner Fillet Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
During these summer months, we suggest using frozen strawberries and bananas. Frozen fruits make the smoothie nice and frosty! If you want to go vegan, you can replace the honey with agave nectar.
How To Prepare the Smoothie
Please note that this smoothie is made in two separate parts.
First, combine all ingredients from the Strawberry Smoothie recipe and blend until smooth. Then pour the strawberry smoothie into a glass, only filling it half way, so we save room for the avocado smoothie layer.
Rinse of the blender container to get rid of the excess strawberry smoothie. Once clean, pour all the ingredients from the Avocado smoothie into the blender and blend until smooth.
Finally, use a spoon to gently scoop out the avocado smoothie and place on top of the strawberry smoothie in the glass. Do not pour or the smoothie will mix together. Garnish with your leftover fruit, and enjoy!
Why Add Aloe Juice to My Smoothie?
Aloe might not be your first thought for a smoothie ingredient, but it should be! Aloe contains tons of vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin B, C, and E, which are great for boosting immune support. Aloe is also one of the few plant sources of Vitamin B-12.
A major benefit to Lily aloe juice is the increased rate of nutrient absorption. This makes sure all the essential nutrients from your smoothie ingredients are maximized to deliver the body what it needs. Check out our clinical study for more info!
