What Makes Aloe So Awesome?

As summer finally comes to a close, our bodies may start to become more susceptible to outside elements. Recent studies suggest that the colder seasons can lower our immunity levels and make it harder for our white blood cells to fight off possible infection. Fall and winter are also known to remove the natural moisture from our skin, leaving us with dry or cracked areas that can cause itch or burn.

This giveaway specializes in giving your body a helping hand when it needs it most! As always, we’ve got your aloe fix with our 99% Gelly and Whole Leaf Aloe Juice. The gelly works to restore and revitalize our skin in over 3 of our epidermal layers, while the juice can be ingested in 2 to 4 ounces at a time to help strengthen immunity, balance digestion, and increase nutrient absorption. After all, Aloe vera is known to have over 200 biologically-active components like vitamins, enzymes, amino acids and polysaccharides!

A box of EcoDrink Naturals comes with 24 packets that can be poured into your water to help meet your recommended daily requirements. That’s right – you’re getting a delicious dose of 28 essential vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes that are absorbed while you hydrate!

We’re also including a 30 pack of Lifestix E.N.T. Care to deliver daily immune health in each travel-sized packet. Its probiotic-enriched formula uses BLIS K12™ S. salivarius to guard your vulnerable areas like the ear, nose, and throat. Just sprinkle this sweet-tasting formula on your tongue to keep your defenses up!

Last but not least, we’re proud to introduce the newest member in the Lily lineup: Aloe Vera Hand Sanitizer. Other sanitizers may leave your skin feeling sticky and dry, but our aloe packs an added burst of hydration to ensure your skin remains soft and moisturized. It is made with Ethyl Alcohol originating from the US and is made here in Texas!

What Makes Our Aloe Unique?

As a leader in the natural products industry, Lily of the Desert is globally recognized for our organically-grown aloe vera. We raise, harvest, and process each aloe plant within our own facility to ensure you’re getting the absolute best from field to bottle. After all, our motto has been “Retaining the Quality that Nature Created” since 1971.

Aloe vera naturally works to help maintain everyday digestion, nutrition, and immune health. It contains over 200 active components and has shown to be incredibly beneficial when safely ingested in 2 to 3 ounces at a time.

In its natural state, aloe is a great source of vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and polysaccharides. But our team of experts have taken it a step further for even more effective benefits.

Each aloe product in the Immune Health Giveaway is enhanced with our very own patent-pending Aloesorb™ infusion. This nutrient-rich delivery system is scientifically proven to help increase white blood cell counts, bolstering their numbers and supporting your immune system.

Aloe Vera for Internal Use & Application

With almost 50 years as a leader in the Aloe vera industry, we’ve learned and discovered so much about what makes aloe beneficial for good health. As an extremely versatile plant, its benefits can be seen not only in its topical applications, but also when ingested as a juice or gel. Let’s discuss the many reasons why you should use Aloe vera in your daily health regimen!

About Aloe Vera

Let’s start by breaking down what you will find inside the aloe plant. There are 200 active components working harmoniously together inside Aloe vera: vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and perhaps most importantly, polysaccharides.

In simple terms, polysaccharides are molecule chains that help transport nutrients in the body in an efficient manner. This allows nutrients to be more bioavailable, which plays a huge role in helping improve the body’s overall condition.

A study conducted by the University of Mississippi discovered that specific higher molecular weight polysaccharides yielded greater benefit. At Lily of the Desert, we decided to investigate further and made an extract that contained only those higher weight polysaccharides found in our aloe. The result was our patent-pending ingredient, Aloesorb™, that is added to all of our products. Gold standard clinical studies found that Aloesorb™ had positive effects in nutrient absorption, immune health, detoxification and antioxidant support.

Let’s take a look at the ways drinking aloe can benefit your overall health.

Immune Support

Immune support is an exciting topic in Aloe vera research, especially when it comes to the production of white blood cells.

White blood cells act as the initial defense system of the body. By actively finding and fighting off issues caused by foreign contaminants, these cells are crucial in helping your body stay healthy. Our gold standard study found that our aloe with Aloesorb™ helped to increase white blood cell counts!

Another exciting benefit that Aloesorb offers is assisting in  nutrient absorption. A gold standard clinical study verified that, when taken with water-soluble supplements like Vitamin C, Aloesorb was able to help increase nutrient absorption levels. This helps make them more bioavailable for your body to use.

We recommend 2 ounces of Lily of the Desert’s Aloe Juice a day to help support your immune system all year long. It can be added to your favorite juice or smoothie with ease, and of course, used with your daily supplements.

We’ve covered that Lily of the Desert’s Aloe vera can assist nutrient absorption, but what is the benefit of better absorption rates? Well, when your body is able to take in more nutrients, it is able to function at a higher level. This in turn helps your stomach and its ability to digest foods normally.

Aloe’s various active components are able to help remove waste from the body and assist in lowering toxins that prevent cells absorbing necessary nutrients. This helps balance the pH of the stomach and overall digestion.

Through a special blend of Aloe vera juice and trusted herbs, our Lily of the Desert Stomach Formula is designed to help balance stomach acidity, digestion, and support gut health naturally.

A good way to keep your body in tip-top shape is to help reduce toxins that inhibit nutrients from being absorbed in your cells. Aloe can help in a couple of ways. As a very water-dense plant, Aloe vera naturally helps with hydration. When a body is properly hydrated, it can help to flush out high levels of toxins more effectively while keeping the system moving.

It also helps to support our liver and kidney function through the 200 vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found in aloe. These two organs act as a filtration system for the body.  Lily of the Desert with Aloesorb™ is clinically proven to help reduce toxic levels of nitrates in the body.

Whole Leaf vs. Inner Fillet Aloe Vera Juice

Though we have talked about the fantastic world of Aloe vera as a supplement, you might have noticed Lily of the Desert sells two different types of juices. These juices are called Whole Leaf Aloe Juice and Inner Fillet Aloe Juice

When you open up an aloe leaf, you will find clear gel inside. Whole Leaf juice includes the inside gel of the leaf as well as the outer shell or rind. Inner Fillet juice just contains that inner gel without the rind. So, why would I choose one over the other?

The answer is really just based on your preference. Some people prefer the taste of the Inner Fillet or the taste of the Whole Leaf version. It’s really up to you, as you won’t receive any more major physiological benefits from choosing one over the other.

(Tip: Adding Lily of the Desert’s Aloe Juice to your favorite smoothies helps to absorb the nutrients from your healthful ingredients! Need some inspiration? We have a few recipes for you to try out here.)

Aloe Vera Juice VS Aloe Vera Gel

You can also decide if the juice or gel better fits your preference. Aloe Vera Gel, which differs from our 99% Aloe Vera Gelly used for topical application, contains the same 200 biologically-active components as our juices. The gel is thicker that some find to have a “soothing” effect on the throat, whereas our aloe juice has a thinner consistency. Both are meant to be ingested for internal usejust pick a consistency that you like best!

Aloe Vera’s Natural Digestive Benefits

Woman Holding Her Stomach in Discomfort Graphic

Did you know the digestive system plays a crucial role in maintaining overall good health? Your gut, made up of our stomach and intestines, can have a major effect on whether our bodies are functioning properly. Poor gut health can cause a multitude of issues including: a weakened immune system (over 70% of your immune health is located in the gut!), occasional heartburn and indigestion, poor metabolism, sleeplessness, and more. But you can help balance your digestion, and in turn, your whole body, with Aloe Vera.

Aloe has been used as a digestive aid for several thousands of years. It’s even appeared on 4,000 year-old Sumerian clay tablets and in Egyptian records extolling its digestive benefits! Across the centuries, aloe’s natural qualities have been celebrated by many cultures around the globe that use it on a daily basis to help maintain good health.

Let’s look at how aloe actually works with your digestive system, and the positive impact it can have on the rest of your body.

Aloe naturally contains over 200 biologically-active components like vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, minerals, and perhaps most importantly: polysaccharides. These components all work together harmoniously and actually create an adaptogenic effect that work to help  balance your body’s system and support the reduction of stressors.

Aloe Vera is known to help maintain a balanced pH in the stomach. Other products that are meant to help with stomach acid can either end up blocking it or eradicating it entirely, which does not allow your body to digest naturally and absorb vital nutrients.

Aloe works with your own stomach acid to balance and support a healthy environment for digestion, probiotics with beneficial bacteria, and more. This balance helps to maintain healthy regularity and reduce the likelihood of stomach upset and occasional heartburn or acid indigestion.

The polysaccharides found in aloe not only help to reduce high levels of toxins but by doing so, assist in increasing nutrient absorption by transporting nutrients from your foods and supplements to the body. Lily of the Desert aloe is clinically proven to help increase nutrient absorption

By having your digestion balanced, your body is also able to enjoy more fringe benefits from Aloe vera.

Immune Support

As aloe is a great source of support for good digestion, it is also true for immune health. Aloe is able to help stimulate the white blood cells in your body that act as your natural defense system against stressors like seasonal allergies. Our own brand of Aloe vera is clinically proven to help increase white blood cell counts, assisting your body to stay healthy. Adding aloe to your daily regimen can have a positive impact on your overall immune health throughout the year.

Antioxidant Support

Aloe Vera contains antioxidants that belong to a family of substances called polyphenols. Antioxidants help protect the lining of the gut by supporting the cells in the stomach. They also help produce good bacteria and limit inflammation. Additionally, if you’re taking supplements with probiotics and prebiotics, the antioxidants in Aloe Vera can support your gut health regiment. Lily of the Desert aloe brand is clinically proven to help increase antioxidant support!

Maintaining Good Gut Health

Lily of the Desert’s Aloe Herbal Stomach Formula is a special blend of certified organic aloe vera and trusted herbs like peppermint, chamomile, ginger, and blessed thistle that have been known to help maintain overall healthy digestion. It works with your own stomach acid to maintain a healthy pH balance while offering relief from occasional heartburn and acid indigestion. It is the ideal natural alternative to the beta-blockers and acid blockers available.

You can take 2 ounces by itself or mix it with a juice you enjoy. We recommend taking it 15-30 minutes prior to your meal.

With different sizes available for everyday use, it’s never been more convenient to help soothe occasional upset stomach. Choose from our 32 fl oz bottle of Stomach Formula, or the smaller 2 fl oz shot of Stomach Formula for when you’re on the go.

Green Juice Immune Booster Recipe

Strengthening our immune systems has become one of our top priorities for 2020.  When we eat nutrient-rich foods and utilize supplements to help fill in the gaps, we are giving our natural defenses a boost that can help lessen the chances of becoming sick.

This simple and delicious smoothie recipe contains vital nutrients that can help give your immune system the boost it may need to help stay healthy.

Why This Smoothie Is Oh-So Good

Fruits like lemons, kiwis, pineapple, and mango are packed with Vitamin C. This essential nutrient is known for its antioxidant properties that both enhances immune health and aids in antiviral and antibacterial protection.

Spinach is also rich in Vitamin C, numerous antioxidants, and beta carotene— which your body turns into Vitamin A in order to keep your eyes and skin healthy. This special combination of antioxidant and beta carotene helps the body ward off any potential invaders.

Those aren’t the only antioxidants here. The grated ginger offers strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects that helps to support a healthy immune system while adding a kick to your smoothie. It’s also a natural way to sooth an upset stomach and help in occasional digestion troubles. And don’t forget, over 70% of immune health starts in the gut!

Almond Milk contains important vitamins like A, D, and E, and gives your body the other recommended nutrients it needs to function properly. Additionally, it provides vitamin B and iron, which increases muscle strength and recovery.

Last but not least, Aloe vera juice is a great source for supporting immune health. Lily of the Desert’s aloe juice contains 200 biologically active compounds, ready to help keep your body healthy. Our aloe helps to increase nutrient levels by increasing the rate of absorption

When enhanced with our patent-pending Aloesorb, taking Lily of the Desert aloe juice daily is clinically proven to help increase your white blood cell counts. That allows for a strong and healthy immune system.

Our Immune-Boosting Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Spinach (Tightly-Packed)
  • 1 ½ Cup Almond Milk
  • 1 ½ Cup Kiwi, Pineapple, and Mango Chunk Mix
  • 2 Tablespoons Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Juice
  • ½ Teaspoon Grated Ginger
  • ½ Lemon (Juiced)

Frozen fruits can be a great alternative to fresh produce. Not only is does it make storage easy, but it also helps keep your drink cold and refreshing. Feel free to use other dairy substitutes like cashew, coconut, or oat if you prefer as well.

Here’s What You Do

  • Peel and cut your kiwi, pineapple, and mango into smaller pieces
  • Peel and grate the ginger
  • Cut your lemon in half and juice
  • Combine your fruit mix, ginger, and spinach into the blender
  • Add lemon juice and almond milk
  • Add 2 tablespoons of Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Juice

Additional Benefits of Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Juice

Without a doubt, Aloe Vera is a wonderful plant with helpful properties. Of course, Lily’s Aloe Vera juice helps support your immune health, but there are many more benefits to have! Aloesorb: Enhanced Immune Health

Aloesorb Graphic

From washing our hands to staying home from work, we’re all doing our part in preventing the potential spread of COVID-19. But as we continue to take precaution against the concern of contagion, it’s crucial to maintain a healthy immune system throughout the process. If your body’s defenses aren’t at their strongest, you can be left with a vulnerability that causes those preventative measures to fall flat.

So, what makes for a strong immune system? And how can Lily of the Desert aloe support it?

Immune Health (In A Nutshell)

The key to boosting our immune system lies in the production of white blood cells. These specialized soldiers exist to find and eliminate unhealthy pathogens before they can spread infection within the body. By boosting production of white blood cells, you are adding to the ranks of your first line of defense.

Unfortunately, their good fight can only last so long. White blood cells become overworked, leaving us to fall victim to infection and illness much more easily. This allows pathogens (AKA the disease-causing foreign microbes we encounter daily) to make us sick and spread onto others around us.

How Our Aloe Can Help Support Immune Health

Did you know drinking Lily’s aloe juice daily is clinically proven to help increase white blood cell counts? These can help ensure that your immune system stays healthy and effective.

Our aloe also encourages increased nutrient absorption, giving you more of the essential immunity-boosting components you need from the food you already eat throughout the day. Maximizing the vitamins and minerals normally flushed out of your system can help your body function at its best.

If you’re a fan of the Lily brand, you’ve likely heard or seen the word “Aloesorb”. It’s on all the packaging of our aloe-based products, and it’s something we get a lot of questions about.

Aloesorb is our patent-pending process that’s entirely unique in the aloe vera industry. It isn’t an additive or preservative. It’s simply pure, 100% aloe vera, cultivated right at the source.

We’ve extracted high molecular weight polysaccharides (naturally found inside the aloe plant) and infused a more effective version back into our products. The higher the weight, the better the overall quality— resulting in chart-busting benefits throughout multiple “Gold Standard” clinical studies.

In fact, it’s scientifically proven that products with Aloesorb can help increase nutrient absorption rates, as well as contributing to our juice’s  white blood cell study. It can also offer assistance in balanced digestion, reduced nitrate levels, and increased antioxidant support.

Whether you’re braving the unknown or practicing social distancing at home, it’s more important than ever to help keep your immune system functioning at its full potential. Learn more about our aloe products and where to find them by visiting our store locator.

From all of us at Lily of the Desert, we appreciate your patronage and hope you remain safe and well during this trying time.

Immune Health During Back-to-School Season

Beautiful young parents and their daughter are having common cold, wiping noses and looking at camera while lying on bed

It’s back to school season…hurray!  All parents are letting out an audible sigh of relief now because planning playdates, vacations, camps, etc. is over with the kids back in the classrooms.  But this also means they are back to germ city.  How many parents do you know with a kid already home sick…and it’s only the first week?!  So how do you keep yourself healthy with all the germs that kids bring home?

Having a healthy immune system means your body is defended against illness or infection.  Cells work together to combat any foreign pathogen that comes in contact with your body.  So what can you do to make sure that your immune system is in tip-top shape?

  1. Drink plenty of water- Water helps your body produce Lymph, which your immune system uses to circulate white blood cells and nutrients to the tissues in the body. It also helps to keep the body clear of toxins.
  2. Eat a balanced diet- Sugar-laden foods and those loaded in saturated fat only impede your immune system from working correctly. Load up on fruits, vegetables and whole grains to keep your body going.
  3. Get moving- Exercise helps your body rid itself of unwanted bacteria and helps increase the circulation of antibodies or white blood cells to help stave off infection.
  4. Add some supplements-Immune-boosting supplements can help the battle to keep you healthy. Aloe vera contains the polysaccharide called Acemannan that has many immune health benefits.  You can take 2 to 4 oz daily of Lily of the Desert Aloe vera juice or gel to help support your healthy immune system.  It’s great to add to your smoothie or juice.
  5. Wash your hands and get some rest- These may seem like the obvious, but they are something people often forget to do.  But you are always telling your kids to wash their hands and go to bed, so make sure you do the same!

All these steps can only help you to stay healthy during this time of sneezing, wheezing and coughing.   Good luck out there!

Aloe Vera:Safe Alternative for Your Occasional Heartburn

StomachInZinnias-Safe sm

Let’s face it: dealing with occasional heartburn stinks.  Whether it happens when you eat certain foods or it just comes up out of the blue, you are feeling the burn and want it to go away.  The key to helping ease your occasional heartburn starts in the stomach.  The health of your gut is vital to helping you stay healthy…period.  So what can you do to help?

A common practice is to use a proton pump inhibitor to stop acid production altogether, but recent studies have shown that these could lead to future heart attacks.  Yikes.  Who wants that to happen?  Aloe vera has been known for thousands of years as a digestive aide.  Our Aloe Herbal Stomach Formula contains our own aloe mixed with a variety of trusted digestive herbs like chamomile, ginger root, slippery elm and fennel seed.  This wondrous combination helps balance your stomach acid naturally, not stop its production.   You will benefit from healthy digestion and that will help your entire body stay happy and healthy.  Not a bad tradeoff, huh?
