Immune-Boosting Smoothie Recipe

All Ingredients in the Smoothie

All of us could use a boost to our immune systems right now and with this simple and delicious smoothie recipe, Lily’s got you covered. Each valuable ingredient helps to give your body the proper nutrients and minerals it needs to function at its best.

Here’s what you’ll need:

· 1 Peeled Orange

· 1 Peeled Large Carrot

· 1 Peeled Banana

· ½ Peeled Lemon

· 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

· ½ Cup Chopped Pineapple

· 1 Inch Slice Ginger

· ¼ Teaspoon Turmeric

· ¼ Teaspoon Cinnamon

· ⅛ Teaspoon Ground Pepper (optional)

· 2 Tablespoons Whole Leaf Aloe Juice

If you aren’t able to find these ingredients fresh, you can always use their frozen substitute. Missing something from the list? Throw in your favorite fruits or veggies and experiment with your own taste by following the instructions below. Feel free to add ice too, if you like.

How To Make:

1. Peel and cut the pineapple, banana, orange, and carrot into small pieces.

2. Slice the ginger and lemon.

3. Place your fruits, carrot, and ginger into the blender.

4. Add ¼ teaspoon of turmeric, cinnamon and ⅛ teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper.

5. Pour 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk into the blender.

6. Add 2 tablespoons of Lily’s Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice to the mix for added nutrient absorption.

7. Blend for a couple of minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

8. Enjoy!

Good health starts in your gut.  If your digestion is out of whack because of over indulging during the holidays, then this smoothie recipe will help get you back on track.  This recipe contains key ingredients (found in your local market) that will make your gut happy.

Spinach: while we all know that spinach is full of good stuff for our body, most don’t know that it also helps with your digestion by warding off constipation and soothing mucus membranes of your digestive tract.

Raspberries: packed with fiber, raspberries are an excellent in season fruit that you can add to help keep your stomach at full power.  They also have low natural sugar content keep your waistline happy.

Apples: also full of fiber, apples have a great natural grit as well that is great for cleaning out your digestive tract.

Ginger: this spice packs a powerful punch when it comes to good health.  Ginger is great for nausea, indigestion, morning sickness and more.

Flaxseed: full of gut-helping fiber, flaxseed is such a great multi-purpose ingredient to help keep your good health on track.

LILY’S HAPPY GUT SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

-1 cup of spinach

-1/2 cup raspberrries

-One apple, cored and diced

-1 inch piece of peeled ginger

-1 TBSP of Flaxseed

-1/4 cup of Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Juice

Directions:

Place all of your ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth.   Add some mint to garnish and give your digestion an extra boost.

Forget a #PSL … make a pumpkin drink with a little more substance. In our Spiced Pumpkin Smoothie, pureed pumpkin and a banana blend together smoothly, and fresh ginger and cinnamon will really warm you up. Cranberry Aloe Fizz

This beautiful Cranberry Aloe Fizz is one way to get festive for the upcoming holidays. The ginger ale and cranberry (make sure it’s 100% juice!) are a wonderful combination of tart and sweet, with a little ginger kick. So Fresh and Green Smoothie (with Aloe H2O)

Unfortunately, many health drinks have high amounts of sugar in them. This is something we wanted to be mindful of (and avoid) when we created our newest beverage line — Aloe H2O. It has only 3g of sugar per serving … just enough to balance aloe vera’s naturally bitter flavor. And not only does Aloe H2O taste great on its own, but it also makes a great liquid base for smoothies, especially because it adds nutritional value without adding a lot of sugar to the usually-fruit-based recipes. For the So Fresh and Green Smoothie, we in particular liked using Pure Aloe H2O because of the subtle cucumber flavor that it contributes. Try it for yourself and see what you think!

Sweet Potato Overnight Oats

We love overnight oats because all the prep can be done the night (or up to 3 days) beforehand! And you can customize the basic recipe any way, so sticking with seasonal flavors and produce is no trouble at all. As you can probably tell, this Sweet Potato Overnight Oats recipe was inspired by one of our favorite fall desserts: sweet potato pie.

There’s something about this Apple Chia Smoothie that is intensely satisfying — it’s cold, creamy and so perfectly encapsulates autumnal flavors (cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh apples). And adding a serving of Lily’s aloe gel (amplified with Aloesorb™) and a serving of chia seeds (those little fellas provide more Omega-3s than salmon!) leaves you feeling oh-so good. But, take it from us: the key to this recipe is to make sure the ingredients are cold (or you can add ice), and that the smoothie is blended ultra-well.
