What Makes Our Aloe Unique?

As a leader in the natural products industry, Lily of the Desert is globally recognized for our organically-grown aloe vera. We raise, harvest, and process each aloe plant within our own facility to ensure you’re getting the absolute best from field to bottle. After all, our motto has been “Retaining the Quality that Nature Created” since 1971.

Aloe vera naturally works to help maintain everyday digestion, nutrition, and immune health. It contains over 200 active components and has shown to be incredibly beneficial when safely ingested in 2 to 3 ounces at a time.

In its natural state, aloe is a great source of vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and polysaccharides. But our team of experts have taken it a step further for even more effective benefits.

Each aloe product in the Immune Health Giveaway is enhanced with our very own patent-pending Aloesorb™ infusion. This nutrient-rich delivery system is scientifically proven to help increase white blood cell counts, bolstering their numbers and supporting your immune system.

Aloe Vera for Internal Use & Application

With almost 50 years as a leader in the Aloe vera industry, we’ve learned and discovered so much about what makes aloe beneficial for good health. As an extremely versatile plant, its benefits can be seen not only in its topical applications, but also when ingested as a juice or gel. Let’s discuss the many reasons why you should use Aloe vera in your daily health regimen!

About Aloe Vera

Let’s start by breaking down what you will find inside the aloe plant. There are 200 active components working harmoniously together inside Aloe vera: vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and perhaps most importantly, polysaccharides.

In simple terms, polysaccharides are molecule chains that help transport nutrients in the body in an efficient manner. This allows nutrients to be more bioavailable, which plays a huge role in helping improve the body’s overall condition.

A study conducted by the University of Mississippi discovered that specific higher molecular weight polysaccharides yielded greater benefit. At Lily of the Desert, we decided to investigate further and made an extract that contained only those higher weight polysaccharides found in our aloe. The result was our patent-pending ingredient, Aloesorb™, that is added to all of our products. Gold standard clinical studies found that Aloesorb™ had positive effects in nutrient absorption, immune health, detoxification and antioxidant support.

Let’s take a look at the ways drinking aloe can benefit your overall health.

Immune Support

Immune support is an exciting topic in Aloe vera research, especially when it comes to the production of white blood cells.

White blood cells act as the initial defense system of the body. By actively finding and fighting off issues caused by foreign contaminants, these cells are crucial in helping your body stay healthy. Our gold standard study found that our aloe with Aloesorb™ helped to increase white blood cell counts!

Another exciting benefit that Aloesorb offers is assisting in  nutrient absorption. A gold standard clinical study verified that, when taken with water-soluble supplements like Vitamin C, Aloesorb was able to help increase nutrient absorption levels. This helps make them more bioavailable for your body to use.

We recommend 2 ounces of Lily of the Desert’s Aloe Juice a day to help support your immune system all year long. It can be added to your favorite juice or smoothie with ease, and of course, used with your daily supplements.

We’ve covered that Lily of the Desert’s Aloe vera can assist nutrient absorption, but what is the benefit of better absorption rates? Well, when your body is able to take in more nutrients, it is able to function at a higher level. This in turn helps your stomach and its ability to digest foods normally.

Aloe’s various active components are able to help remove waste from the body and assist in lowering toxins that prevent cells absorbing necessary nutrients. This helps balance the pH of the stomach and overall digestion.

Through a special blend of Aloe vera juice and trusted herbs, our Lily of the Desert Stomach Formula is designed to help balance stomach acidity, digestion, and support gut health naturally.

A good way to keep your body in tip-top shape is to help reduce toxins that inhibit nutrients from being absorbed in your cells. Aloe can help in a couple of ways. As a very water-dense plant, Aloe vera naturally helps with hydration. When a body is properly hydrated, it can help to flush out high levels of toxins more effectively while keeping the system moving.

It also helps to support our liver and kidney function through the 200 vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants found in aloe. These two organs act as a filtration system for the body.  Lily of the Desert with Aloesorb™ is clinically proven to help reduce toxic levels of nitrates in the body.

Whole Leaf vs. Inner Fillet Aloe Vera Juice

Though we have talked about the fantastic world of Aloe vera as a supplement, you might have noticed Lily of the Desert sells two different types of juices. These juices are called Whole Leaf Aloe Juice and Inner Fillet Aloe Juice

When you open up an aloe leaf, you will find clear gel inside. Whole Leaf juice includes the inside gel of the leaf as well as the outer shell or rind. Inner Fillet juice just contains that inner gel without the rind. So, why would I choose one over the other?

The answer is really just based on your preference. Some people prefer the taste of the Inner Fillet or the taste of the Whole Leaf version. It’s really up to you, as you won’t receive any more major physiological benefits from choosing one over the other.

(Tip: Adding Lily of the Desert’s Aloe Juice to your favorite smoothies helps to absorb the nutrients from your healthful ingredients! Need some inspiration? We have a few recipes for you to try out here.)

Aloe Vera Juice VS Aloe Vera Gel

You can also decide if the juice or gel better fits your preference. Aloe Vera Gel, which differs from our 99% Aloe Vera Gelly used for topical application, contains the same 200 biologically-active components as our juices. The gel is thicker that some find to have a “soothing” effect on the throat, whereas our aloe juice has a thinner consistency. Both are meant to be ingested for internal usejust pick a consistency that you like best!

Holiday Detox Smoothie Recipe

Detox Smoothie Recipe with Aloe

The Holiday season is upon us, and with it comes wonderful time spent with friends and family, eating delicious foods and treats piled on top of each other in ginormous mounds, forcing us to loosen a few buttons on our pants.  We all do it, even though we know we shouldn’t and it is not good for us to pile on the calories like that, but it only comes a couple times a year, so we just let ourselves go.  But then the guilt comes; “Why did I have 3 helpings of stuffing ladled on top of mashed potatoes?!”.  But with all the goodies that come during a holiday meal, it is easy to get way off course. Our bodies are in overload, shocked that they could fit that much food into one meal.  You need to bring balance back your system so that it can go back to absorbing the necessary nutrients to keep you healthy.  Time to detox.

Toxins play a big role in keeping your cells from absorbing nutrients when they need them, causing your body to have oxidative stress and be more susceptible to illness.  And this time of year, with cooler temps and everyone else around us getting sick, we have to keep our health in check even more.

Here is a simple recipe for a detox smoothie that includes our Aloe Vera Juice made with Aloesorb that has been clinically proven to help reduce toxins in the body.

-1 apple, cored and roughly chopped

-1/2 of a cucumber

-3 stalks of celery

-1 slice of avocado

-1 cup of spinach or other leafy greens

-Squeeze of a Lemon

2 ounces of Lily of the Desert Preservative Free Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice

Add items to blender and blend until smooth.  Ice and cilantro optional.
