When the weather gets rougher, our skin tends to lose its natural hydration, which results in more tender and dry areas when gone untreated. To combat winter chills stripping us of that moisture, we’ve created an awesome new DIY aloe scrub to help revitalize and exfoliate our bodies when we need it most.
Ingredients You Can Trust
All it takes is 3 simple ingredients to help revitalize your skin’s natural glow.
The main component that will hold our scrub together is Lily’s 99% Aloe Vera Gelly. If you’ve read a few of our blogs before, you’d know the inner gelly found within the aloe plant can help soothe dry and itchy skin by hydrating at least 3 epidermal layers of our skin. This deep moisturizer will leave your skin feeling soft, revitalized, and ready to take on the day.
Raw honey has built-in antimicrobial and probiotic properties to help our skin in its natural healing process, making it a perfect contender for aiding sensitive skin. As an added bonus, it’s also sticky enough to help remove potentially harmful impurities within the mixture.
Last but not least, organic sea salt adds a welcome exfoliant element to help remove dead skin from our bodies. Not only does it make our food taste good, but sea salt actually contains essential minerals that can help enhance our skin.
Now that you know what makes these simple ingredients so good, here’s how to start making an awesome aloe-based scrub of your own.
What You’ll Need
- 1/4 Cup Organic Sea Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Lily’s 99% Aloe Vera Gelly
- 1 Tablespoon Raw Honey (Room Temperature)
Our Directions
First, take your bottle of 99% Aloe Vera Gelly and squeeze two tablespoons into a medium-sized bowl. Introduce the sea salt into the gelly by mixing it thoroughly with a spoon. Once the blend looks like a spreadable paste, add the raw honey and mix until combined. That’s it!
After each use, store the remaining scrub into an airtight container and place it somewhere cool and dark, like in a bathroom cabinet.
How To Use Your 99% Gelly Scrub
This simple and effective rejuvenation technique can be used as a face scrub, body scrub, or foot scrub. We’d recommend using about a tablespoon at a time, starting with gathering it on your hands, then working your way to scrubbing your entire body.
Massage the mixture gently into the skin and rinse off with warm water and a washcloth after each use. We just know you’re going to love how you feel afterwards!
Finally, be sure to always use a scoop or tablespoon when removing the scrub from the container. Using wet hands to grab your new scrub can cause bacteria to enter the blend.
