How This Healthy Smoothie Bowl Can Help You

Did you know around 70% of our immune system is located in the gut? By supporting your stomach’s biome with the right vitamins and minerals, you’re also buffing up your immunity against bad germs. Fuel and nourish your body with ingredients that support overall good health.

Pumpkin

Our star of the show would have to be the pumpkin. High in antioxidants, eating pumpkin can help support our immune systems while fighting disease. Plus, since it’s chock full of vitamins and minerals, its high levels of beta-carotene can also help with your eye health and inflammation.

Pecans

Now, pecans are a great source of healthy fats, but also contain a variety of vitamins that can help support our immunity. They are high in protein and contain thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin E. Their antioxidant-rich content provides the body with antioxidants that help fight free radicals.

Dates

Dates are an excellent source of fiber and contain a high concentration of potassium, vitamin A, vitamin c, and many more. These also do wonders for improving your daily immunity! Regular consumption of dates helps with constipation and energy levels, just to name a few! They can also help lower cholesterol levels, anemia, and inflammation.

Bananas

Most of us know bananas are high in potassium. This helps to lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of heart disease. However, we need to give bananas more credit: they’re also high in magnesium, B6, fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and much more to help with immunity.

Almond Milk

Dairy can be hard on our bodies. Almond milk is derived from almonds and delivers vital nutrients and vitamins, which offer many health benefits to you. Almond milk provides the body with fiber as well as Vitamin E, zinc, selenium, manganese, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and more. Unsweetened almond milk is the best choice to avoid excess sugar!

Cinnamon & Turmeric

Cinnamon has antioxidant properties that help to fight off disease and reduce the risk of inflammation. Likewise, turmeric is very commonly known for its anti-inflammatory attributes but also helps fight off bacteria and relieve occasional pain.

Aloe Vera

What better way to boost your smoothie than with a splash of aloe? Lily of the Desert aloe vera has a mild flavor, helping mask it with just about any smoothie or drink. High in vitamins C, A, and E, aloe is clinically proven to help encourage overall health. From supporting a healthy digestive system to enhancing our white blood counts for better immunity, aloe is a great addition to any DIY health recipe.
