Two's A Pear Smoothie

Two’s A Pear Smoothie

This Two’s A Pair smoothie is a good way to get some green into your diet this week. It’s made with fresh pear (we used Bosc pears here, but you can choose whatever is ripe and readily available in your area), banana (freeze it beforehand if you can so that you won’t have to add ice, which waters down the recipe), kiwi fruits, kale, fresh mint (any variety you’d like), and freshly squeezed orange juice. Add two ounces of Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gel to ensure you are getting the most out of all of the wonderful nutrients this recipe has to offer. Worried about how raw kale is going to taste in your morning smoothie? Don’t be — the combination of fresh, seasonal produce and the aromatic quality of the mint will keep you too delectably distracted to even give it a second thought. Besides, including kale is going to bring the dietary fiber and protein that an action-packed day like yours might really need.

Two’s A Pear

  • 1 pear, cored and roughly chopped
  • ½ banana, frozen
  • 2 kiwi fruits, peeled and quartered
  • 1 cup chopped kale, ribs removed
  • 2 twigs fresh mint
  • ¾  cup organic (or fresh squeezed) orange juice
  • 2 ounces Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gel

Directions: Blend all ingredients together. Garnish with fresh mint.
