Strawberry, Aloe & Ginger Smoothie - Lily of the Desert

Strawberry, Aloe & Ginger Smoothie

Getting our daily recommended nutrients is one thing, but making sure they’re actually being utilized is so important! We’ve got another helpful immune-boosting smoothie recipe that tastes great and helps your body process those good nutrients along the way.

Without further ado, here’s Lily’s Strawberry, Aloe & Ginger Smoothie!

Today’s Inspiring Key Ingredients

An Instagram-worthy color isn’t the only thing these strawberries are good for. According to Healthline, snacking on strawberries can be a fantastic source of Vitamin C and antioxidants– two elements that are crucial for maintaining healthy skin and a stronger immune system.

Ginger is an all-star player when talking about innovative smoothie ingredients. It has excellent anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties that are found in the active component known as gingerol, making it great for staying healthy. It’s also been reported to aid with occasional nausea and soothe the digestive system.

Yogurt provides beneficial probiotics that are housed directly in the gut. This allows the ecosystem in our stomachs to become more balanced, and as a result, increases our metabolism and supports healthy digestion. We chose to use coconut yogurt in this smoothie for its amazing creaminess, but feel free to choose the one that best suits your digestive needs.

Including hemp seeds into your smoothie may not seem like much, but they end up packing a healthy punch of omega-6 and omega-3! These fatty acids are known to affect immune responses in the body, and pair well with the other essential proteins and healthy fats found within hemp seeds.

Finally, Lily’s own organically-grown Aloe Vera Juice works with a holistic approach to overall good health. Known as “nature’s super juice”, Aloe vera has been studied for its many benefits for thousands of years. When properly ingested, aloe is clinically proven to support and improve upon healthy digestion, immunity, nutrient absorption, and much more when used daily. Adding our aloe to your smoothie will help ensure your body gets as much use out of the nutrients as possible.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • 1 Cup Strawberries
  • 1 Cup Yogurt (Coconut Preferred)
  • 1/4 Cup Hemp Seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon Peeled & Grated Ginger
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 4 oz. Lily of the Desert Whole Leaf Aloe Juice

Here’s What You’ll Do

Don’t worry, this only takes about five minutes or less. Cut, peel, and slice the ginger and strawberries into their own bowls before gently piling them into the blender.

Add the yogurt and vanilla extract before mixing on high. Once combined, open the lid and sprinkle in the hemp seeds. Set your blender on pulse three times to ensure they’re evenly distributed throughout the smoothie.

You’ll want to look for a creamy texture to know when it’s done. Garnish the poured glass with a pinch of hemp seeds, and voila! You’ve just created an immune-boosting masterpiece.

Aloe Vera & Aloesorb™

Morning smoothies will never be the same once you start incorporating our aloe vera into your everyday routine. And, when combined with Lily’s own Aloesorb™, it’s no wonder a little aloe juice can go a long way in maintaining whole body health.

Found in each of our aloe products, Aloesorb™ is clinically proven to provide advanced immune protection by supporting an increase in white blood cell counts within the body. Since white blood cells act as our main points of defense, bulking up their armies against potential threats and infection is vital in staying happy and healthy throughout the year.

Additionally, only a small percentage of the vitamins and nutrients we consume each day manages to get absorbed. Aloesorb™ is clinically proven to help increase nutrient absorption, especially with Vitamin C, and to help reduce the toxic nitrate levels that build up and prevent us from absorbing those nutrients.
